Hey There! I’m Jodi and a few years ago I read this quote by Poet Mary Oliver “Tell me, what is it you plan to do with your one wild and precious life?” What struck me was how simple and profound the quote was – yet it forces you to take action and think about what kind of life you want to build and why.
After graduating from college, I tried really hard to organize my finances and get on top of my money life. It was a tough journey and I quickly realized that there was not enough personal finance information for some very key groups in society – young graduates fresh out of school especially women.
In 2017, I was in over $4000 in credit card debt. It was a tough period as I had to find a solution to quickly pay off this debt.
Along this path, I spent time educating myself on personal finance topics such as debt pay-off, investing, saving money, and wanted to share this knowledge with as many people as possible.
As a result, I decided to start Abundance of Jo to teach young women to save and make money so they can live an abundant life. I am a Personal Finance Geek and I love consuming content on saving money, investing and all things that teach people to manage their money and I am excited to share this information with you too!
I spent a few years working in the exciting world of Public Relations and took the leap to go to Business School to do an MBA which sharpened my finance skills and knowledge. Business school was intense but helped me to learn more about managing a business and building a foundation that has changed the trajectory of my career.
I love reading, travelling and exploring parks and nature. I am also a big fan of most types of music, Law and Order and medical dramas – my favourites are ER and Grey’s Anatomy.
Thanks for stopping by – my intention is for you to feel empowered to build and create an abundant and exciting life.
