Are you living paycheck to paycheck and looking for a step-by-step guide to improve your finances in 90 days? Well, look no further as you will get exactly what you need if you continue reading.
In this blog post, I will teach you how to make sense of your financial life in a step-by-step guide that will have your finances organized and ready to build wealth.
Learn how to Organize Your Finances
Organizing your finances is the first step in improving your relationship with money and generating wealth.
This is because you need to be fully aware of your financial situation and understand how much money you are spending on your housing, food, utilities, entertainment etc.
In this step, gather all your financial documents such as your bank statements, mortgage or rent statement, credit card bills and take a look at how much you’re spending each month.
Also, gather your pay stubs and other income sources to determine how much you are actually earning per month.
This single act can help you to get financially organized and prepare you for the next steps.
Make a Budget that Works For You
Budgets are very important, in fact, I believe a budget can single-handedly impact your finances in unimaginable ways.
Making a budget is the first step in repairing your finances because you get to track your expenses and also allocate money to meet your financial goals every month.
Start by tracking all expenses and then tracking your income, then subtract your total expenses from your total income.
The amount you are left with will be the amount that will serve as your discretionary income – with this amount, you can start paying down debt and also start saving or investing.
If you find that you are overspending every month, then you will need to take a closer look at your expenses and then your income.
Are you heavily indebted? Are you overspending on unnecessary items and need to cut down on your spending?
This is the beauty of a budget – you can make significant inroads once you know where you stand financially and it gives you the lens through which to do this.
Money Tip: Use a Budget Strategy that Works for YOU! If a pen and paper are better, then use them. If an excel spreadsheet is right up your alley, then do it. A budget style should be tailored for what you can manage – you will be more likely to do it that way!
